Well done to Jack Rush & Diarmuid O'Donoghue who qualified to represent Mary Immaculate Secondary School in the Munster Cross Country Schools Junior 3500m & the Senior Boys 6000m on Thursday 13th February in Clarecastle.
Both athletes did themselves and our school very proud, with the top 15 finisher's in each race to qualify for the All Irelands Secondary Schools, in the Junior Boys, Jack Rush was in the leading 15 for most of the race but lost some ground at the very end to finish 18th & just missing out on qualifying for the All Irelands, in the Senior Boys, Diarmuid O'Donoghue ran a very strong race and was in the top 20 for the first 3 laps and finishing in 26th place overall, the conditions were extremely challenging in parts of the course, the school is looking forward to participating again next year.
